Dr. Gonzalez is a Cuban-American and a native Floridian raised in Miami. Dr. Gonzalez attended The University of Florida where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition. Following completion of his undergraduate work, he attended Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at North Miami Shore, Florida where he earned his doctorate in podiatric medicine.  Dr. Gonzalez has earned many accolades in Academic, Leadership, Volunteer, and Student of the Year awards while at Barry University.

He completed a rigorous three years foot and ankle surgical residency training at the United Health Services Hospitals in Johnson City, New York.  Dr. Gonzalez is trained in numerous surgical techniques with an emphasis on reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. He had the privileged to learn from highly trained dermatologists, plastic surgeons, vascular surgeons, and orthopedic/podiatric foot and ankle surgeons in the Northeast.  While in residency he earned a mini-fellowship in Podiatric Dermatology at Bako Labs in Alpharetta, Georgia.  He completed a specialized three months training in pediatric limb deformity, and management of bone and joint infections at The International Center for Limb Lengthening in Baltimore, Maryland.  Also during his training, he would lecture to nursing students at Binghamton University on the evaluation of diabetic foot ulcer.

Dr. Gonzalez is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine.  He participates and is a member of multiple podiatric societies. He also enjoys seeking the most innovative treatments available for his patients. In his free time, he enjoys Latin dancing, cooking with his beautiful wife and two children, and volunteers his time as a Clinical Director for the Special Olympics Healthy Athletes program.  Dr. Gonzalez places a strong emphasis on community medical networking and patient education to achieve the highest level of patient care.
